'UnderRepresented' is a collection of portraits with people who aren't usually witnessed or portrayed in the mainstream media. It was designed to give a platform to people, enabling them to communicate their own narrative and present themselves to the world, doing the things they enjoy or being the people they want to be. It is an arena for validation, acceptance and pride, helping to dispel stereotypes and empower the subjects, creating compelling images and providing a voice for the seldom-seen.
The subjects and the communities they represent are unconventional and non-normative and in that lies the beauty of both the subjects themselves and the portraits they helped to create.
